If we were going down the path of immaterial gains,
You and I,
Work a little more,
Or understand a little too less,
Lying on the grass instead
of making houses and lawns.
How would a life be weighed?
If we were craving plastic straws,
You and I,
building them castles,
only to again be wasted,
Paint a little more, brushes dipped in wine, instead
of wanting to be the learned.
How would one measure
laughter and tears?
If we blurred the lines,
You and I,
between the rags and riches,
like dark and light,
Jumping in the rivers and drench in rain instead
of sitting across the blue lighted films.
Only If,
You and I,
walked a little more,
on a distant shore,
witnessed by the drowning sun,
under a starry night!
Only If.
